General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.
Zanaflex (Tizanidine) taken along with either Tylenol#3 or Tylenol#4 may cause side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating. Some people, especially the elderly, may also experience impairment in thinking, judgment, and motor coordination. You should avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you.
However, if you do not have such activities during night time, Tylenol#4 may be taken at night after consulting your treating doctor.
Both Tylenol#3 & Tylenol#4 contain same ingredients (Acetaminophen + Codeine) however, Tylenol #4 has twice as much codeine as Tylenol #3, namely 60 mg compared to 30 mg. So, Tylenol#4 is stronger than Tylenol#3.
Hope this answers your query.
