Can Trigestrel Be Used As An Emergency Contraceptive Pill?

Hi, last night I had sex with my boyfriend and the condom broke, however I got the piece of condom in my virgina today in the morning while bathing. Before I got the piece of condom semen was falling down through my legs. Today in the afternoon i had blood coming out from my virgina thinking its my periods but the blood has stoped. Can I use the trigestrel pill as an emergency pill? I m really scared please help me.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think you should use an emergency pill within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. You can use Trigestrel but you have to take it in high doses. Better to consult a gynecologist for proper prescription. You can use unwanted 72 pills if available over the counter at your place.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Khushboo Priya
