Can Tramadol And Ibuprofen Be Taken Together?

I had my Acl and meniscus surgery about two weeks ago now and been taking tramadol every 6 hours, 3 times a day now and tomorrow my physical therapy starts! One of my friends who had the same surgery suggested I take Advil or Ibuprofen one hour my physical therapy so I m not in so much pain and discomfort! I was wondering how long after I taken tramadol 50 mg do I have to wait until, I can take the ibuprofen 800 mg pills that I have? Or should I avoid tramadol the day of my physical therapy and just take Ibuprofen 800 mg? Please advise?

Hello,
Welcom to Healthcaremagic.com.

There is no such dangerous interaction between the two drugs but they can augment the the effectiveness of one another to release you from pain.

As you said there is no pain so you must not add any drug to the prescription as per your own.

My opinion is avoid tramadol on the day of the physical therapy, so you will not feel lethargic and tired during the act of therapy if you don't feel pain management.

Hope my answer will help you.
