Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Tamsulosin, Metoprolol And Metformin Be Taken Together?
my doctor prescribed tamsulosin for enlarged prostate, I see that one of the side effects is low blood pressure I am on metoprolol and metformin for high blood pressure. should there be any problems with these 3 drugs what would be a good time to take this drug, before bed?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It's not safe to take these medicines together.
Since Tamsulosin (prescribed for the treatment of enlarged prostate) can cause orthostatic hypotension (fall in BP from supine/lying down position to standing position) it is better to be taken at bed time.
The other medicines can be taken during morning and evening time as prescribed by your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
