Can T Tubes Surgery For The Eustachian Tubes Causes Muffled Hearing?

I have had years of ear infections and had a clef palate as a baby. I recently had surgery with the placement of T-tubes. My ENT Dr. told me he also did some surgery to the eustachian tubes themselves. I am about 3 weeks post-op and still feel very muffled with my hearing. I have had some hearing loss over the years because of the infections and scar tissue. But before the surgery, my hearing was definitely better. My ENT Dr, decribed my ear drums as floppy and that it will most likely take quite some time to experience improvements. Is it normal to still feel very muffled, as if I am under water? Also are the eardrums able to eventually heal themselves and regain a more normal tautness? How long can I expect to fel this way? Thanks for any information.

nothing to worry . Usually some hearing problem persist up to 6 month in post op period( variable regarding type of t tube). Then it becomes better. Ear drums will heal themselves. we have done hundreds of myringotomy with grommet insertion . Most of them improved and lead a happy life.
