Can Simplicef Be Taken For Yeast Infection?

hi is Simplicef safe for humans? What is equivalent for this so that I can provide the name of the correct med term to my primary care doctor. I had a yeast infection that has turned into an abscess that is being treated with antibiotics presently. I want to make sure this does not come back!

Hello,

Simplicef contains cefpodoxime, an antibiotic used to treat skin infections including abscesses caused by bacterial infection. It cannot treat fungal infection. You should take antifungal medication for that.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
