Hi,
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
As per history the patient has symptoms suggestive of Alzheimer's disease.
Zeroquel is a brand name of an antipsychotic drug quetiapine.
The treating doctor had put her on quetiapine because she might had psychotic symptoms which is quite common in Alzheimer's patients.quetiapine is a newer class of drug and side effects are very less when compared to older drugs.
It is also used to control agitation in Alzheimer's patients.
So the use of zeroquel can be justified nothing wrong in it.
I suggest you to consult her a psychiatrist for better treatment options. There are many treatment options for Alzheimer's and he will guide you accordingly.
Hope this information helps.
Regards.
