Can Seroquel And Depakote Cause Auditory Hallucinations?

I am taking 300 mg of seroquel and 2000 mg of depakote at night and having horrible auditory hallucinations. I have never had this before in my illness. My mental disorder is bi-polar not anything else. I am trying to get off of seroquel because of this and many other reasons. Can all this cause auditory hallucinations?

Hello, Welcome to Health Care Magic

I can understand your concern. Seroquel is Quetiapine and Depakote is Divalproate Sodium. Both drugs are commonly used in bipolar disorder and a number of conditions. You are on 300 mg of Quetiapine and 2000 mg of Sodium Valproate which are very high doses. These doses might cause dizziness or ringing sensation in ear which can be perceived as hallucinations. Over all these drugs are used in treatment of hallucinations and hallucinations are not the side effects of these drugs.

Consult your doctor if symptoms persist.

Thanks, hope this helps you
