Can Remeron And Clonidine Be Taken Together?

Can you take Remeron and Clonidine together? My son was taking 0.2 mg of Clonidine during bed time and the doctor recently added Mirtazapine at bed time. When he takes the Mirtazapine he is experiencing bad dreams, nightmares and will only sleep for 5 hours. I started giving him 1mg of Clonidine when he gets up at night after taking the Mirtazapine. Should I continue to give him the 0.2 mg of Clonidine during bed time on top of the Mirtazapine? The Clonidine helps him to calm down and go back to sleep after waking up with bad dreams.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can continue both the drugs together , they do not interact with each other or do not have any added effects. If the symptoms persist, consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
