Can Reclast IV Be Taken After A Dental Procedure?

i need to have my reclast iv (annual) soon. is it safe to have a crown put on a tooth after i have this done or should i wait a specific amount of time. I have a decayed tooth and what if the dentist needs to extract the tooth instead?
Also, i need a tube put in my eye for glaucoma and how long after i have that done should i wait to have the reclast iv

Hi.
Thanks for the query..

Well Reclast is a bisphosphonate that is used for treatment of Osteoporosis but it has severe side effects on the jaw bones and in case if dental procedures like extraction is done after the infusion it can cause severe side effects like Osteonecrosis..

So there should be a gap of atleast 3 months and even more after which dental treatment should be done..
Also after treatment once the healing is complete then only you should take dose of bisphosphonate..

So my suggestion is to consult your Physician and get a fitness clearance for the dental treatment and after dental treatment only you should go for next infusion..
Even the eye surgery should be done before itself as many times reclast infusion can cause redness, irritation in eyes with some vision disturbances, so better to be on safer side..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
