Can Prednisone Cause Elevated Blood Liver Enzymes?
I was on 3 rounds of prednisone for hives. I also took a liver test recently December 26. Two of My liver test were elevated from a test back in October. Could the prednisone be the cause, I am not taking any Tylenol and alcohol consumption is 1-2 days no alcohol, 2-3days one drink and 1-2 days 1-3 drinks.?
hello patient. prednisone is not known to affect liver function when taken for such shortwhile. The most important indication of raised liver enzyme is your liver function is degrading.to know the most exAct cause i need to know which were the enzymes which wee elevated. secondly alcohol is the most important cause of increased liver enzyme, whether you take it less or irregularly. doesnt matter.you need to stop as there is a good indicator that liver damage has begun because of drinking and you can treat it or reverse it if you completely stop drinking. Under go liver ultasound to know more about the health of liver and book an appointment with a physician for further action.
