Can Pramipexole Be Taken Along With Sulfamethoxazole?

I am taking sulfamethoxazole -tmp ds for 10 days with a diagnosis of infectious gastroenteritis and colitis,unspecified. I also recieved a new medicine for restless legs sym (pramipexole 0.125 mg) I high blood pressure and diabetes. At present time I am also taking labetalol HCL 400mg, lisinopril 30mg, and Meformin HCL. I have many other meds that I am not taking at present because my stomach will not tolerate them. Can I take pramipexole with the sulfamethoxazole?

Hello,

I have reviewed your query in detail and here is my advice. Pramipexole and Sulfamethoxazole - they have very weak interaction. Sulfamethoxazole may affect the metabolism and mildly increase the level of Pramipexole in the system. However, since you are on a very low dose of Pramipexole there is nothing much to be worried about.

If you notice any symptoms like excessive tiredness, agitation, irritability, changes in muscle power/function, follow up with your treating physician immediately.
