Can Percogesic Be Taken While Suffering From Hypertension?

is Percogesic Pain Reliever/Fever Reducer safe to take if you have high blood pressure? I have a chest cold and Tylenol is not allowing for me to get the rest I need. I current take Lisinopril and a water pill for blood pressure. The lisinopril is at 5 mgs.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, it can be taken safely while on Lisinopril.

Percogesic contains Acetaminophen and Phenyltoloxamine.
Acetaminophen is a pain reliever and a fever reducer, whereas Phenyltoloxamine is an antihistamine that is used to treat sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, running nose, nasal congestion associated with common cold.

There's no documented harmful interaction between Percogesic and the BP lowering medication Lisinopril hence Percogesic may be taken safely while suffering from hypertension.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
