Can Omeprazole And Antibiotics Be Taken Together For Upper Abdominal Pain?

I am a 46 year old woman. I have been having this dull pain in my upper abdomen since last week. I sent to the doctor and he prescribed omeprazole 20 mg - 2 caps once a day before meals. I started taking the medication on Thursday but I am not feeling any better. I also did a blood test to test for the h pilori bateria- no results yet. In April this year I had a urine infection (the urine smelled bad) and was given Ciprofloxacin HCL 500mg which i did not take; I was scared when I read the side effects. I think I still have the infection. Can I take the omeprazole and the antibiotics together. Can the pain be linked to the urine infection? I don t have a credit or debit card. Thought this was a free service

Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to gastritis. I don't think that the pain in the upper abdomen is related to the urinary tract infection. Anyway, I would recommend performing a urine bacterial culture. In case of infection, it is safe to take omeprazole and antibiotics concomitantly.
