Can Norvasc (taken For High BP )cause Joint, Muscle Pain And Chronic Cough? I Also Take HCTZ.

I have joint and muscle pain(moderate). It started about 4 months ago and has been gradually getting worse. Along with this is a chronic cough. I started taking Norvasc for BP and that is the only new medication., I do take HCTZ, noting else. Could the Norvasc be the route of the problem?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe it may be a poly arthritis, myalgia, or may be due to the defeciency of the electrolytes due to the hydrochlr thiazide.
I advise you to consult your doctor for diagnosis and treatment, by stopping the hctz or minimising the dose you may get the relief.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms potasium chloride, and acyclphenac sodium.
Avoid taking potato, other tubers, egg, chicken, and sea foods.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and
protein rich foods to hasten the recovery.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
