Can Norethindrone Be Used To Prepone Periods?

I started my period on June 28th which means my next one is set to start the day I go on vacation (July 30). I have a prescription for Norethindrone which I have used to delay my period before, but in this case would like my next period to come about 5 days early. Can you tell me when I should start taking it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If you want your period to start 5 days earlier, i.e., 25th of July, start taking Norethindrone pills from 15th of July. Take 1 pill twice a day (with exact 12 hours distance, Eg: 1 pill at 8 am & second pill at 8 pm) take the pills for 3 days and then stop taking them. The pills can be started with strict contraception in the month. This is because pills taken in early pregnancy are harmful to the fetus. Expect your periods within 8 days of stopping the pills.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
