Can Monodox Cause Depression And Psychological Effects?

Hello, Can Monodox, which is an acne medication, cause depression, mental or psychological effects? Because since I started taking it I experienced deep depression and concentrating problems. This was a huge problem for me as a student. Thank you.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Monodox is the trade name for an antibiotic, doxycycline. It can be associated with anxiety in a small number of persons who use it so it is possible that it contributed to this symptom.

In terms of depression, it is not a known side effect.

You may want to think about if you want to continue the medication, this should be discussed with your doctor.
You may also want to consider review by a psychologist or psychiatrist.

I hope this helps
