Can Mobic Is Taken For Knee Pain?

Slipped and fell today. Severely twisted my knee about 5 hours ago on which i had 5 prior surgeries. I am using RICE: rest, ice, compression, and elevation for now. Very swollen. Have some generic 7.5 mobic from prior use. Can I use it this soon after injury?

Hi,

Mobic is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug and can be used for any type of joint pain and muscle pain and even backache.

Your knee is operated 5 times as you said and now with this twisting injury to knee chances of ligament injury are very much increased.

I would advise splinting knee in long knee brace and continue RICE method.

An MRI of the involved knee should be done to check for ligament and meniscus pathology.

Visit your operating surgeon as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jayesh Vaza,
