General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Meprate is a hormonal preparation and it can be used in various conditions, when given in specific doses. When given in high dose for a short time. It causes withdrawal bleeding after 8 days of stopping the pills in case of delayed periods with no pregnancy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
