Can Meloxicam Be Taken While Suffering From Heart Disease?

I have a heart stent and take aspirin,Clopidogrel (75mg) and Carvedilol (3.125mg) - due to my knee with some arthritis they want me to take once a day Meloxicam. I m sure it s okay, just want to ask someone else as no one pays attention to anything anymore. Thanks for your response.

Hello sir, Meloxicam is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug. You have to be monitored closely if you are taking meloxicam along with aspirin, clopidogrel and carvedilol.
Meloxicam can decrease the effect of carvedilol. So, monitoring of blood pressure is essential.
Meloxicam can increase the effects of aspirin and clopidogrel. So, monitoring for any bleeding is also essential.
For these reasons drugs like Meloxicam has to be used for short term relief of acute pain. But if you are taking for long term (1 week), then the above things has to be considered more seriously and more vigorous monitoring is required.
