Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I wanted to know if there is some kind of metal like ingredient in the drug Lyrica. I have a metallic smell which seems to be coming from my exhale. More noticeable after I take the pill than just before.
I'm sorry, I didn't see to pay for questions. I just wanted to know ingredients. I will see my Dr. soon. Thank you. Susan
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain Lyrica contains Pregablin and metallic taste in mouth can be a side effect of the medicine although it is not a commonly seen side effect caused by Lyrica. I would suggest you to consult your treating physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination can help in ruling out the cause and treated accordingly.. In case if the metallic taste is due to Lyrica, reduction in dose or change of drug can help.. As of now you can chew flavoured sugarfree chewing gum for improving taste. Gargle with flavoured mouthwash.. Drink plenty of water.. Maintain a good oral hygiene..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
