Can Lyrica Be Taken While On Acyclovir?

hi. I was given Lyrica 50 mg to treat shingles. I am currently also taking ACYCLOVIR 800 MG. I do not have any pain just a topical sensation on my skin where the shingels are located. I am a little hesitant of taking Lyrica. Should I be or should I take Lyrica?

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query.

Lyrica can be safely taken and this is very good medication for neurologoc pain which is is in herpes.
These two medications can be taken together since there is no scientific evidence that some interactions or serious side effects exist. SO if there is medical indication then it can be taken just be sure to take it in recommended dosage. Also, you must be sure that you are not allergic to any ingredient of these drugs. If you start to feel any signs such as breathing difficulties or rash, you should stop medications and see doctor.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
