Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am currently on 200 mg lipicard once a day for around a year and 50 mcg eltroxin for hypothroidism for last 10-15 years. Presently I have all my reports on LFT, Kidney profile, Lipid profile and throid profile under normal range. I noted that since I started lipicard, my Vit D level goes down and I start getting pain in instep region of my feet. Is it normal? How do I take care of this situation? I would also like to know long time effects of lipicard. I am totally vegetarian and control fried foods, butter and rich foods.
Hi I had gone through the question and understand your concern. See, Lipicard may cause unwanted side effects such as:
1 Fatigue. 2 Vomiting. 3 Nausea. 4 Diarrhea. 5 Constipation. 6 Back pain. 7 Stomach pain. 8 Headaches. Apart from these , there are no such serious side effects. As far as you Vit D level is concerned , you can take vitamin supplement for it , and it will be back to normal in no time.
I hope this information helps. Let me know if you have any other queries. Wish you good health.
