Can Lasix Be Taken For Treatment Of COPD?

I was recently diagnosed with copd.they have me on a inhaler now and had me on a steroids at first.In the past I was put on lasex for swelling in lower extremistsI have also noticed that it has helped with that fluid build-up in my lungs.but I only take the lasex as needed for the swelling in my feet and legs but if it is helping with the fluids in my lungs should I keep taking the lasex.

Yes, lasix is prescribed in the treatment of COPD.
Right sided heart failure or copulmonale is an important complication of COPD which results in accumulation of fluid not only in the lungs but also in the abdomen and lower extremities.

So, to reduce the swelling due to edema, the water pill lasix is prescribed hence it should be taken which helps in mobilizing the fluids by increasing the urine output.

You should also continue to take the bronchodilator inhalers prescribed for COPD.
