Can L-Arginine Be Taken Before A Breast Surgery?

Is it OK to take L-Arginine before having surgery? I am trying to keep my blood pressure down before breast surgery on Aug. 10th, and I have read that L-Arginine helps relax blood vessels. I have stopped all my other supplements, but could I continue the L-Arginine?

surgery keeping in mind the instructions of remaining nil by mouth
by the anesthetic doctor regarding the surgery.
