Can Klonopin Be Taken For Anxiety During Pregnancy?
My daughter takes klonopin for anxiety and is now 8 weeks pregnant. Is it safe to take this drug while being pregnant? She has been taking several different nausea meds because she has been severely ill with this pregnancy. Those meds aren t working. She took a Klonopin, and the nausea and vomiting stopped and she feels good.

Klonopin is a benzodiazepine and is not a recommended long term treatment for anxiety due to its dependence. It is not recommended to be used during pregnancy either.
Your daughter should talk to her doctor as there are other safer treatments for anxiety during pregnancy that are very effective and can be used long term.
