Can Itepan Be Replaced By Pantocid IT?

The medical specialist Dr had prescribed me Capsule Itepan but the dispencing branch of the dispensary issued me Capsule Pantocid IT saying it is one and the same. Is the contention of the dispensary correct? What are the contents of the Capsule itepan?

Hi,

You need to inform your doctor for such replacement. Pantoprazole the stomach acid suppressant drug is present in both Itpan and Pantocid IT. However in addition to Pantoprazole the formulation Pantocid IT capsule also contains another drug Itopride. Itpan contains only Pantoprazole. You must inform your specialist before taking any such replacement.
