Can Ibuprofen And Heating Pad Reduce Pain In The Wrist That Moves Up The Arm?

My daughter is 21 and away in college. She just called to tell me that she woke up this am with pain in her wrist and the pain has moved up her arm all day and is now at her shoulder. She is in a lot of pain and has no strength or grip in her hand. Heat helps a little. I told her to take ibuprofen and use heating pad and if pain persists to go to the dr tomorrow. Am I right or should she go to er.

Hi.Can understand your concern. As per your query reason for pain in wrist which is radiating to arms can be due to any injury in ligaments or joint or may be while sleeping it got compressed..ibuprofen will work or you can tell her to take Aceclo-MR which is pain killer as well as a muscle relaxant.which will work more effectively. Also tell her to note the colour of skin ,if it's changing ,she should go to doctor.I hope the information helps.Take care.
