Can I Use Water In The Area Of Nairobi Fly Bite Inside Ears?

Hello Doctor I have been going through your answers on Nairobi fly bite. Unfortunately about 4 days back i have been bitten by Nairobi fly inside my ear. Its becoming very irritating and is paining and burning have got some blisters also. After going through your articles on this i am applying lacto calamine. I would like to know few things on this. 1. Can you put water on the area affected? 2. How long it takes for this to get cured ? 3. Is there any oral medicine which can be taken? and finally 4. Does it get spread to areas around it ? wating for your valuable reply Thanks

hello, thanks for your query, puting water with some insect bite leads to infection. in my opinion you require to see an ent surgeon to measure and to know the depth of injury caused by that insect. in some patients insects per ear may cause rupture of ear drum. depanding on Ent examination you may require oral antibiotics and per ear antibiotic drops. mean time not to go for swimming and do not put water. hope I have answered your query. all the best. take care.
