Can I Take Zithromax And Clindamycin At The Same Time?

I I have a abscess tooth. Was on clindamycin for 5 days, tooth was pulled, continued with clindamycin for 5 days. I still have a swollen lymph node in my neck. The dentist added a Zithromax now. I have heart an lung problems. Can you take these 2 antibiotics at the same time?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can take Clindamycin and Zithromax together. They won’t interact with each and doesn’t cause any adverse drug reaction. They act on different spectrum of pathogens and you will be benefited by combining two of them. It would be better to take antacids like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole while you are on multiple antibiotics to avoid gastritis related side effects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
