Can I Take Flucloxacillin And Indometacin For The Treatment Of Gout?

I am on antibiotics for a skin break in my foot which had become infected. I believe I have now have gout in the same foot, I have had gout before and recognise the symptoms. The antibiotics are Flucloxacillin and I have some old Indometacin tablets for treating gout. Can I take the two together or I am better served taking some painkillers and seeing my GP in the morning. Regards

Hi,

Flucloxacillin does not help in gout.

You can take Indometacin, which is quite effective to control pain in gout.

You can consult a rheumatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
