Can I Take Celestamine Syrup For Stuffy Nose And Constant Cough?

My son received celestamine syryp in January 2011 and I still have some. He seems to have a stuffy nose and constant cough at night when he sleeps. He just completed a course of antibiotics 2 weeks ago. Am I able to still use this Celestamine from jan 2011 now end of March?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have stuffy nose and constant cough which is due to impaired immunity of body and susceptibility of getting infected. Celestamine syrup which you bought in 2011 you have to check its expiry date . If it is expired then you have to buy a new one rather than using the remained one. You should take steam inhalation as well. You should go to pediatrician once and should go for CT sinuses. You should get X-ray chest done along with pulmonary function tests to find out extent of infection and start treatment.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
