Can I Get Infected With HIV By Using A Common Spoon?

Dear docter,

I was wondering if it is possible to get infected with hiv if I have a cut on my tongue or in my mouth and eat from the same spoon of an hiv infected person or eat from the same plate of an hiv infected person.

Second I wanted to know how deep a cut must be on my tongue or in my mouth for the hiv virus to get in my bloodstream and infect me

Hello
NO , NOT AT ALL.
But I would like to reply in detail, so please read this :
Although HIV can be isolated typically in low titers from SALIVA of a small proportion of infected individuals , there is NO convincing evidence that saliva can transmit HIV infection either through kissing or eating any thing by mouth .

Saliva contains endogenous antiviral factors;among these factors HIV-specific immunoglobulins of IgA, Ig G and IgM isotypes are DETECTED readily in salivary secretions of INFECTED INDIVIDUALS ( HIV infected ).
It means , even an HIV infected patient CAN'T transmit HIV by spoon .
Not as I mentioned , if cut is small or big can't transmit HIV because endogenous antiviral factors present in mouth.
Hope this will help you.
