Can I Drink Alcohol After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention?

I have not had a heart attack, but just underwent percutaneous coronary intervention, of which they put in two stents. I still have one blocked artery which was decided that since it was completely blocked, it would be left alone. My question is, Is it safe for me to drink alcohol after having this procedure?

Hi,

Alcohol is known to increase the risk of coronary artery disease. So ideally it should not be consumed by people with coronary artery disease. But your cardiologist will be the ideal person to ask if you can take an occasional drink or not. Regular drinking is certainly not good for you.

Best wishes.
