Can I Do Ear Piercing While Suffering From Staph Infection?

I am planning on getting my cartilage pierced on my left ear, but I have a staph infection on my right ear lobe (I am applying a topical antibacterial on the infected area.) Can this pose a risk in obtaining an infection in the cartilage piercing?

Hi thanks for asking question.
You have localized skin infection in opposite ear that is right ear.
Your left ear have no infection with staph. So you can do piercing of your left ear.
But if you have systemic sign of infection that is fever like condition, elevated total count then it is better you pierce left ear after treating infection with oral antibiotic.
If you have no such systemic infection then left ear can definitely be pierced with no risk.Your ear should be pierced aseptically with new needle.
I hope i have solved your query.
