Hello and thank you for using HCM.I carefully read your question and I understand your concern.

I will try to explain you something and give you my opinion.

You should know that smoking is considered a cardiovascular risk factor together with hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes and hereditary history for cardiovascular disease.

So, you don't mention your age, but you are diagnosed now whith hypertension. If you continue to smoke you add to your self another risk factor.

There are thinks that doesn't depend on you like hypertension, hereditary but you can control smoking, its on your hand.

So, of course you should stop smoking becouse doing so you prevent your self from adverse cardiovascular event caused by smoking.

I encourage you to do so, becouse this is the best think for you.

Hope I was helpfull.

Best regards, Dr.Ervina.
