sir, my widal test report shows the following can you please tell what does these figures stands for : 1:20 1:40 1:80 1:160 1:320 S.Typhi O + + + - - S. Typhi H + + - - - S. Paratyphi AH - - - - - S.Paratyphi BH - - - - -

Widal test is serological test to diagnose enteric fever (Typhoid) o is somatic antigen and H is flagellar antigen its expressed in increasing dilutions. a rising titre is more useful but it has limitations. Positive only after 7 days Enteric fever may be picked up clinically or blood culture may be done .
