Can Hydrocodone Be Taken Before A Hip Replacement Surgery?

I recently increased my dosage of Tramadol according to Drs orders, but I also take Escitalopram. After about two weeks I wasn t thinking right. I could hardly walk, had tremors, and severe nightmares. Being a nurse I went online. I discontinued the Tramadol and within twenty four hours I felt better. My PA now is starting me on Hydrocodone but only at HS. I am having a hip replacement in three weeks so am taking this for pain. Will the Hydrocodone affect me the same way?
