Can Hydrochlorothiazide And Amlodipine Be Taken Together?
Prescribed hydroxyorothiazide 12.5mg and amlodipine 5mg to take in am and was told to continue taking my previously prescribed lisinopril 5mg which i take at night. Wondering if it makes sense to take 2 BP meds. My BP was 170 over 110 when i saw doctor yesterday because of being sick. He gave me .2mg clonidine to bring it down - 20 minutes later it was 140 over 100. I think it was anxiety

if you are blood pressure is high (over 140/90) you might need to take more than one blood pressure treatment to get it down. Yes these 2 medications can be taken together. Its important you take you medication and check your blood pressure regularly to see if it is under control. If it is you might consider reducing medications. If it stays high you may need more medications. As regards anxety it might play a part so its important to check blood pressure regularly.
