Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Someone told that a drop or two of harpic on nail fungus is a good remedy for removing the pain and the fungal infection completely. Can I try as I m suffering from acute fungal infection and it has not shown any improvement after taking prescribed medicines
Harpic is not to be used for the treatment of nail fungus. The disinfectant Harpic contains hydrochloric acid which kills germs on contact using a powerful foaming, oxygen action. It is not effective against fungus infection of the toe nail. The nail fungus can be cured by taking oral and topical anti-fungals like oral Itraconazole 100 mg twice daily and apply Terbinafine cream on the affected areas twice daily for 4-6 weeks. These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
Hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
