Can HIV Spread Through Contact Of Blood?

Dear Doctor, i am so scared about got hiv from blood exposure from my small open cut around 1 cm. Is it possible to transmit hiv from this way? My friend is hiv and his hand bleeding when he touched my small open wound like abrasion. What do you think? Thank you so much, im feel so stressed right now. Please reply

Hello, the transmission possibility remains and it also depends that the CD4 cell count of the patient, patient on ART on not too.
So what I suggest you , to go to ICTC , and report as 'Occupational exposure , for which you will be counselled, tested after consent and be started .the PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) which comprises of 3 Anti HIV medicines to be taken for 28 days and usual result is that HIV does not get transmitted after a PEP'.
