Can Guaifenesin AC Cough Syrup Be Taken For Sinus Congestion?

I am 74 years old. I had pneumonia the whole month of February. I was prescribed ProAir HFA (inhaler) and guaifenesin AC Cough syrup. Yesterday I came down with a nasty head cold: sinus congestion, bad cough and extremely stuffed nose. Can I use the PRO AIR inhaler and the Guaifenesin AC cough syrup that is left over from my pneumonia last month?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You just check for expiry date before use. You can use mucolytics and expectorants in case if productive cough.
Avoid cool'drinks and freeze water. Use tablet Levocetrizine twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
