Hello,
Thanks for Writing to Health Care Magic and putting trust in us regarding your Health related query.
I am Dr. Saleha and I have read your message in detail, I understand your concern and will try to help you in this.
I am sorry to know about the problem you father is having, Exelon patch (
Rivastigmine) Is a good medicine for
dementia i positively hope that he will respond well to this drug. I wish his brisk recovery.
As far as interaction of the drug with a
beta blocker is concerned, Yes you read it right , Exelon patch has serious interactions with Beta blockers so it should should not be used along with bet blockers to save the patients from any serious problems.
But there is a catch,
Coversyl (Pernidorpil) is NOT A BETA BLOCKER, it belongs to a class of drugs called, ACE inhibitors, and ACE inhibitors have no documented interaction what so ever with Exelon patch , so in my opinion you can use both the drugs together without any major alarm and concerns.
I would like you not to panic , everything should be fine using these drugs together.
I hope this answers your question. If you have more questions, I am happy to answer.
Wish you lasting health.
Regards.
Dr.Saleha Saeed.
