Can Eliquis Be Taken With Natural Supplements?

Can eliquis be taken with garlic cloves and magnesium citrate supplements on a daily basis. I have a blood pressure around 155/98 and am not on blood pressure meds. I am 54 yrs old and am wondering in I can take both supplements listed above with Eliquis. I was diagnosed with a small clot in my left calf.

Welcome to HCM community. Your concerns regarding the interaction between Eliquis and garlic cloves are correct. Although the risk is small, but garlic can increase the risk of bleeding when taken with Eliquis. There are no known interactions of Eliquis and garlic with magnesium citrate.

Herbal medicine can be effective at times but it is difficult to take them in standardized doses and sometimes it is hard to predict how they will interact with other drugs. Therefore, I will recommend to stop taking herbal products for your blood pressure. If you visit a physician, he/she will prescribe pills for high blood pressure which will be more safe and more effective.
