Can Dilantin Cause Ledderhose S Disease?

I have been taking Dilantin for over 40 yrs. w/ no problems. I was a dancer and have always been on my feet until my oldest son passed away in 2001. I became sedentary and not done much for 15 yrs. I now have big bumps on bottoms of both feet and my toes are all numb. I thought it was from being still ,but have just read that people who take Dilantin are more prone to something called Ledderhose . At 66, I don t want to spend the rest of life in pain. Have so much to do. New Dr. wants to change me to Lamotrigine from Dilantin, but she only saw me for 10 minutes and feet were not even discussed. I am afraid to switch anti- seizure meds that have worked so long. But would my feet get better? I ve been told they are benign cysts. But hurt Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

If the seizure is controlled with your current antiepileptic medication, no need to change the medicines.

You can seek a second opinion before changing the medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
