Can Cepodem Tablet Cause Burning Sensation In Vagina And Soles?

I was prescribed cepodemxp325 two tabs a day for 5 days as treatment for LRTI. Even though the respiratory infection is now under control i am suffering from burning sensation in soles of feet and vaginal area since taking this medicine.Are these side effects of the antibiotic?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain burning sensation in vagina and feet seems to be due to side effect of the medication Cepodemxp 325 mg that is an antibiotic with active ingredient Cefpodoxime..
Burning in vagina can also be due to yeast infection in vagina that can occur secondary to intake of antibiotics and can cause burning sensation..
Although the symptoms can subside once the antibiotic intake is stopped but I would still suggest you to consult your treating Physician and get evaluated and in case if it is due to antibiotic and if the infection is controlled he can stop the antibiotic or reduce the dose..
In case if there is yeast infection in vagina you can be advised to apply antifungal creams like Clotrimazole and maintain a good hygiene..
Intake of probiotics like Yoghurt will be advisable..
Anti allergics like benadryl can be advised..
