Can Buscopan Cause Hunger Pangs?

My partner is taking buscopan 3 times a day and lanzoprazole 1 a day for a stomach ulcer. However he is constantly hungary even after a homemade hearty meal he craves crisps and biscuits and chocolate. Could this be anything to do with his medication? Thanks. H xx

Hello,

Hunger pangs, or hunger pains are caused by strong contractions of the stomach when it's empty.

This uncomfortable sensation is often accompanied by hunger, or the desire to eat. Despite being called “hunger” pangs, these pains don't always indicate a true need to eat.

Buscopan doesn't usually upset your stomach, so you can take it with or without food.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH
