Can Benedryl Be Given Along With Cephalexin For Allergic Reaction In A Child?

My 6 year old son has an allergic reaction to something on his face and eyes, and has a bump on his forehead. Maybe a bite? We took him to urgent care, they prescribed him Cephalexin. He has started to develop hives on his body. His temp is 99.3, but he doesn t feel sick. Can he take oral liquid Benedryl with the Cephalexin?

Welcome at HCM
I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns.
In my opinion you can give your child banedryl at a dose of 5 mg/kg in three divided doses. Don't exceed this dose. Continue with your cephalexin for a time period which is being prescribed.
Hope your query is adequately addressed
Regards
Dr saad sultan
