Can Aspirin And Lisinopril Be Taken Together?

My PCP recommends OTC aspirin for stroke prevention. I have also been prescribed Lisinopril. Web MD says there is a serious interaction between the two, and recommends an alternative. It does not say for which of the two, aspirin or lisinopril, a substitute should be sought, and did not recommend any substitutes for either. Can you elucidate?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Good day and thank you for posting this question. Yes, there is a serious interaction between aspirin and lisinopril. Both should not be used together cos they can reduce the function of your kidney. You can use aspirin and other drugs, or lisinopril and other drugs but not the two together.
Kindly let your doctor know and he'll recommend another drug for you (he can give you Clopridogrel instead of Aspirin).
I hope it helps.
Thank you.
