Can Adderall XR Cause Breathing Problems?

I just started taking Adderall XR ( technically amphetamine er) 20mg. I took one Thursday then one Friday and I started having trouble breathing. I can breath but I have to yawn and I can t finish the yawn. It s like I can t get enough air so I keep breathing until I feel I have enough air. Sometimes I can take another breath and be fine then other I have to take multiple breaths and I start to get dizzy. I didn t take the medicine Saturday or Sunday and when I picked back up yesterday it wasn t that much of a problem but today it has been bad. It s worse then it was on Friday.

Hi and thanks for using HCM.

I am so sorry to hear about the breathing difficulties you have using Adderall. Normally, they do not cause breathing problems. But if yours started after taking drug and resolves when you stop, then you should talk to your doctor about it so that he may provide a substitute to you.

I hope this helps. If you need more information, please do not hesitate to ask more questions and we would gladly address them.
